History
The idea for Team Milestone originated in 2006. The goal was to develop a team structure to support local and regional riders, while working on skills and sportmanship, teaching the riders fundamentals about racing, and life, that would be beneficial as they progressed in their careers. We were hoping to established common interests and goals, as well as lasting friendships. In this environment, it was believed that each rider could contribute something unique to his/her teammates, as they matured into exceptional individuals, both on and off the track.
In 2009, due to many factors, the team was reduced to Kailyn and Kennadi, two sisters with professional aspirations. In the future, as the economy improves and more interest in resuming the team format is expressed, Team Milestone may expand. Although the team was originally a youth effort, future considerations will not be limited to the youth classes.
Milestone Motorsports moved its base of operations to Burke County, North Carolina, which is just west of Hickory in late 2008. A practice facility is being constructed to include a national caliber practice track as well as a complete gym. With the help of local trainers and riding instructors, we are working towards national recognition and professional careers.
Schedule
Our schedule tentatively includes the major national championships of amateur motocross listed below;
Lake Whitney, Texas Oak Hill, Texas Ponca City, Oklahoma Loretta Lynn's, Tennessee Branson, Missouri Winter Olympics, Florida.
We will also compete at many local and regional events throughout the year. Goals
Our collective goal is to be competitive in each and every amateur motocross event, working to improve technique and speed while aspiring to compete professionally. By accomplishing these goals, we hope to represent all of our sponsors with respect and sportsmanship. Our intention is to provide an avenue for recognition and a stepping stone to factory support.
