May 2011:

I hope everyone is enjoying the new racing season.  It is exciting to see the changes our elite riders have made in sponsors and bikes as they prepare for the transition to professional racing, while our younger riders start aligning themselves with the manufacturers they hope to represent as they mature in their skill and abilities.  This has certainly been a busy time for Milestone Motorsports, although our sponsors have not changed for the 2011 season.

The 2011 season brings the promises of local, regional and national results. We have been fortunate to spend almost every weekend at motocross tracks throughout the Southeast, Mideast and Northeast as we begin the qualifying process for the National Championship at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN.  Thankfully, we have outstanding promotions, such as the Victory Sports' Mega Series and Carolina Ultra Series, to keep all of us busy perfecting our technique and working to overcome our "trouble areas".

After a very unsuccessful stint with the Husqvarna Amateur Team for many reasons, Kailyn has decided to take some time off from motocross as she concentrates on college.  She is maintaining her fitness by running and hitting the gym, but has been off the bike.  Congratulations to her for her early successes with her college studies.  Hopefully, she will be back on the bike in the very near future in both the Women's 14+ and the 250B classes.

Kennadi has been working very hard in her training as she continues to progress in her abilities, gaining confidence along the way.  She has successfully qualified at the area levels for the Southeast, Mideast and Northeast regions in the Girls 12-15 class.  She continues to work on her corner speed and technique and is hopeful that 2011 will be even better than 2010 in regard to her personal achievements, setting even higher standards for herself.  Unquestionably, that includes Loretta Lynn's National Amateur Championship in August of 2011.  Kennadi is looking to begin her ascent to the top of the Girl's 12-15 class, while she contiues to compete in the Supermini classes against the fastest male minibike riders.  Additionally, she is transitioning to the big bikes, racing in the Schoolboy class on her KTM 125.  She will not be able to compete in the Women's 14+ class until next year, but is gaining valuable experience on the bigger bike which will hopefully result in a smooth transition to the 250 4-stroke in the near future.  She has the remainder of 2011, all of 2012 and 2013 in the Girl's 12-15 class.

We have been overwhelmed by all of the interest we have received recently from riders looking to join our program, as well as sponsors looking to help out.  As we mentioned, we are very excited to represent those companies who have been with us for the last several years and are not looking to make many changes.  At this point, we will continue in our efforts to compete at the highest level with plans to resume the "team" format of yesterday.  We have been working with several sponsors who are interested in marketing with our program, but are trying to finalize plans and prospective team riders.  Look for updates in the near future as we begin to reach out to a few riders to represent our program and our collective sponsors.

Again, as always, we want to thank all of the sponsors who have been with us over the last several years, and are staying with our program for 2011. Please support the companies who support our sport.

Good luck to all.  We'll see you at the races!
